Happy Thursday, friends! I have a little #tbt Throwback Thursday treat for you today! After filtering through several hundred videos & at least as many photos, I have finally finished the first installment of the Belize video diaries… Eeek!
As I mentioned, and you may have seen, Wuan and I were fortunate enough to spend a week in Belize for our honeymoon, staying at Matachica on Ambergris Caye. Let me tell you – if you ever get a chance to go to Belize, I highly recommend staying at Matachica. It is small (only accommodates around 50 people), but beautiful & very nice, no kiddos allowed (sorry, not sorry…), and you can do any activity you want right from the dock. Not to mention, the food is pretty bang-up as well. You stay in your own little hut, all of which are named after fruit, and they take care of you 100%.
When we arrived on Monday, we got checked in to “Grapefruit,” (from then on affectionately known as “Mr. & Mrs. Grapefruit”) and got the week’s activities started immediately. Read: John & I don’t do very well “just hanging out” for extended periods of time. Purposely not planning any set activity on our afternoon upon arrival, or for the following first full day, we wanted to take time to relax after an insane-but-awesome-I-can-never-do-it-again-but-want-to-do-it-all-again wedding weekend. True to our nature, by lunchtime on Tuesday, we were like little kids at Disney World, wondering what activity we could do immediately. With great ADHD comes great adventure, right? Long story short, here’s what our week now looked like:
Pretty fantastic, huh? So, rather than give you an incredibly long and in-depth play-by-play of each fishing & diving/snorkeling adventure, I have broken it all down into 3 separate videos. The first, below, is the general overview of our entire week. You’ll see some water sports (paddle boarding & kayaking to the reef, & John killing it on the sunfish), as well as a few previews of the bonefishing & diving videos to come. Trust me, the shark footage gets waayyy more intense (!!!), & quite a few more bonefish were caught (you’re welcome).
Thank you! Haha at least he's great with conventional tackle… Perhaps I should host a few lessons on the pond?
