It’s time again for another update with Sportsman’s Box!
The September box has some great items that will help us make the transition from summer to fall in the woods. Checking trail cameras, scouting, and deer hunting are top priority this time of year, and, its clear Sportsman’s Box had that in mind when they put this month’s package together.
First, a pair of ScentLok Hiker Crew Socks. ScentLok uses Silver Alloy™ technology that aims to prohibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria – i.e. no more stinky, sweaty post-hunt feet. Forget to bring a spare paid of socks? No problem! Wear these again without having to worry about smelly foot odors ruing your hunt (and your hunting buddy’s). Even though we may not need them for a few more weeks here in hot South Carolina, these mid-weight socks will be great for that midseason temperature drop.
Scent control is a big factor for most avid hunters, and ScentLok has so many great options to help. Sometimes we don’t realize how far even a little scent can carry, particularly to the nose of a mature buck. From dryer sheets to your deodorant, scent control starts at home. I can’t wait to put this ScentLok antiperspirant to the test.
Up next is a handy SD Card Guardian by Guardian Hunting. If you’re anything like me, you find SD cards in the washing machine & dryer, or at the bottom of your hunting pack & the floorboards of your car. I make it a habit of taking a empty card with me to check cameras so I can quickly swap them out and leave minimal sent behind. Now, with this rugged SD Card Guardian case, I’ll always have a waterproof place to store them in my pack. It holds up to 16 SD cards, and comes in several colors. It’s also large enough to fit the SD card reader I have that allows me to check photos right from my iPhone.
As always, there is a delicious snack in this month’s box – this time we’ve got a Rugged Meats Wild Boar Snack Stick. Made from 100% American free-range wild boar, its perfect for that protein boost you need on a long hunt [and extra tasty]! They’re sold individually, or in packages of 24.
Finally, Sportsman’s Box has partnered with the NRA [woohoo!], and they sent over a limited edition keychain knife. Usually pocket knives like this are dull, or break immediately, but this one is nice and sharp and feels durable. I know I will get a lot of use out of this both in and outside of the woods.
In other exciting Sportsman’s Box news, the company has officially launched the SPORTSWOMAN’S BOX edition! It will still have all of the same great gear, but each box will have at least one item geared towards the lady hunter / angler (think: women’s gloves, hats, etc). Super exciting for those of us who are sick of always wearing guy’s gear because we can’t find anything for women that we like!
You can still choose from the flagship “Original” or starter “Scout” subscriptions, and they’ve even got one for you bow hunters out there! Get ready – the October installment will be the first Sportswoman’s Box I receive, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all once it arrives.
Hurry up and sign up for yours so you don’t miss out – head to www.sportsmansbox.com and click “get started.”
PS – I’ll be doing a GIVEAWAY with Sportsman’s Box & Women’s Outdoor News in a few weeks, so be sure to stay tuned!
