Late Season Arkansas Goose Hunt with the Remington V3 Waterfowl Pro

As my South Carolina duck season came to a slow, but steady end, I feared my waterfowl hunting days were over until next fall. So, when I was given the chance to hunt snow geese the first weekend of February (in Arkansas, no less) I jumped at the chance. In addition to hunting in a new state, I would also be hunting with a new gun – the Remington V3 Waterfowl Pro.

2019 Waterfowl Media Conference

Remember that scene in the movie “Home Alone,” where the McAlister family is sprinting through Chicago O’Hare in a desperate effort to make their flight? That’s exactly what I felt like dashing through the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport on my way to Saskatchewan for the 2019 Waterfowl Media Conference. It was my second year attending, and there was no way I was going to miss one second of the trip – especially, not for a missed flight.

Tips for Taking Kids Hunting

For parents and veteran hunters alike, taking kids hunting can be one of the most rewarding experiences in outdoor life. For many, growing up learning to hunt was as natural as learning to tie their shoes or ride a bike.  For others, the option to go hunting as a kid (for any number of reasons) simply didn’t exist. That’s where hunting guides and hunting outfitters come in – someone else with the knowledge and skill to help close the gap between you and the game you chase.

But, don’t be fooled – the two titles are not mutually exclusive.

Texas Hunts with Remington Outdoor: Gators, Ducks, Hogs, & Fish

Back in September, I had the amazing opportunity to represent Women’s Outdoor News on an epic hunting trip, traveling to Texas with Remington Outdoor Company. The trip was the result of a contest last Christmas — The WON’s 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway  — the prize being a 2 to 3 day alligator hunt in Seadrift, Texas, with Castaway Lodge. Our giveaway winner was Melissa, a rising veterinarian from Washington State, and she would meet Remington rep Jessica and me in Texas to begin our adventure.

Upon arrival, we planned to start our search for alligators the following morning. Thanks to Hurricane Harvey’s copious amounts of flooding, our guides had no way of knowing just where those gators would be. We fully anticipated needing the full 3 days for each of us to tag out.

Sportsman’s Box: August

If you’ve been following along on social media you may have noticed that I’ve recently been promoting something called the Sportsman’s Box. I’ve been receiving one monthly since early summer, and recently was lucky enough to become a member of the Sportsman’s Box Field Operative Team! I am super excited to be working with such a great company and so many amazing other field ops in the outdoor industry.

So, what exactly is Sportsman’s Box?
