Continue readingLate Season Arkansas Goose Hunt with the Remington V3 Waterfowl Pro
As my South Carolina duck season came to a slow, but steady end, I feared my waterfowl hunting days were over until next fall. So, when I was given the chance to hunt snow geese the first weekend of February (in Arkansas, no less) I jumped at the chance. In addition to hunting in a new state, I would also be hunting with a new gun – the Remington V3 Waterfowl Pro.
Continue reading2019 Waterfowl Media Conference
Remember that scene in the movie “Home Alone,” where the McAlister family is sprinting through Chicago O’Hare in a desperate effort to make their flight? That’s exactly what I felt like dashing through the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport on my way to Saskatchewan for the 2019 Waterfowl Media Conference. It was my second year attending, and there was no way I was going to miss one second of the trip – especially, not for a missed flight.

There’s just something so satisfying about a good pair of boots. A pair that you don’t have to think twice about when you’re heading out the door on a given adventure, because you know they will serve you well in the field. So, where does one find such a pair of kicks? Gumleaf USA is a great place to start, and especially, a pair of boots I have been wearing since the hurricane – Gumleaf USA Saxon boots.

Our dove season opened Labor Day weekend, and I felt excited to take my new Remington V3 Field Sport for a spin in the field on South Carolina’s dove opener. Because the lightweight V3 uses Remington’s gas-operated system to reduce recoil, I wasn’t at all concerned about shooting a heavier gauge gun for higher volume shooting.

I recently had the opportunity to interview famed outdoorswoman Eva Shockey about all-things life, family and the outdoors. With just a few weeks until she and her family move into their brand-new forever home, and even fewer weeks before her baby boy arrives, she’s got one heck of a crazy schedule. As a working mom in the outdoor industry myself, I wanted to pick her brain about everything — from living in the country, to designing a home, to raising outdoor kids.
Continue reading2018 Waterfowl Media Hunt in Saskatchewan
A few weeks ago, I had the amazing pleasure of attending the 2018 Waterfowl Media Hunt in Saskatchewan, Canada. We hunted in the North Battleford area of Saskatchewan, with the fine folks at Northway Outfitters.

You know what’s fun? Trying new things. You know what’s even more fun? Trying new guns! I recently had the opportunity to review the oh-so-much-fun Remington Model 870 Tac-14 Marine Magnum, and I have to say, it did not disappoint.

Question – where the heck did deer season go? I’ve been planning to catch y’all up on all of my hunting adventures this fall, but time has absolutely flown by and I have No. Idea. Where. It. Went. And now its over… As of yesterday – New Year’s Day – our whitetail season is officially closed. [Oh hey Happy New Year, by the way!]
Since I did so much hunting from very beginning of the season, I figured it would be easiest (and shortest) to give you a quick rundown of all of the hunts leading up to my [first] success… What a doozy.
